The Community Sailing Program is currently housed at Lake Mayer Community Park and is co-sponsored by the Savannah Sailing Center. This program, the first of its kind in Chatham County for the general public, provides a valuable learning experience and teaches area youth to enjoy water sporting events. In addition to basic sailing and water safety, the program offers immediate and advance training. Scholarships are provided to at-risk youth. The program conducts one major junior championship regatta yearly. For additional information call (912) 231-9996.
